Costa Del Mar lenses are manufactured from two different materials, Glass (G) and Polycarbonate (P). Both are polarized and offer UVA, UVB, and UVC protection. Costa Del Mar offers two quality lenses, the Costa 400 lens and theCosta 580 lens. The Costa 400 was the very first lens developed by Costa Del Mar in the CR-39, or Columbia Resin #39, plastic polymer lenses. It eliminates glare at the 400 nanometer mark and is available in all three lens types. The Costa 580, which was launched in August of 2000 as Costa Del Mar's premium lens collection, eliminates glare at the 580 nanometer mark. The lens nearly completely eliminates glare, giving way to enhanced color saturation and creating darker reds, blues, and greens. Costa Del Mar offers eight different lens colors, but the 580s are limited to gray, copper, blue mirror, green mirror, and silver mirror, with each lens color offering a unique visual experience.
